and The Oakalls are to benefit from a new cycleway, as part of a trans-
port and highways plan being rolled out across Bro- msgrove, writes Sarah Rees. The cycleway will run from Heydon Road in Finstall under the railway bridge and join up with the cycleway by the playing field near the railway line on The Oakalls. Green Parish Council has co-opted two new councillors: Harrison Rone-Clarke
and Joe Nilsson, both of whom live in the village. Alvechurch
Parish Council has made an official complaint to
the chief executive and leader of Bromsgrove District Council about representation in Alvechurch South ward since the illness of incumbent councillor June Griffiths 15 months ago. The parish council said it had received no response to a previous letter to Coun Griffiths and her “stand-in”, Coun Kit Taylor. They had shown “dis- respect” by not responding to the parish’s letter, said Coun Marc Worrall.

councillor is proposing that the council on which he sits
should be abolished. Coun Charlie Hotham, who is also a county and parish councillor, says it would make sense for Bromsgrove District Council to make way for a single “unitary” authority. “Do we really need all these people?” he asked. “I have seen the financial projections for Bromsgrove and the money is not there.”
bras have been donated to a “bra bank” at The Wishing Well
health and wellbeing centre in Bromsgrove, in aid of the charity Against Breast Cancer. The bras will be given a new lease of life in developing countries – and for every tonne collected, the charity receives £700 to fund its research. The organisers would like to thank all those who donated.
