happened. Nicaragua is again teetering on the brink of self-destruction, and once more our missions and workers find themselves right in the middle of a battle zone.


THE SITUATION IN NICARAGUA IS VERY GRAVE. NOT FAR FROM OUR MISSION CENTER PEOPLE ARE DYING, THERE HAS BEEN WIDESPREAD BURNING AND LOOTING, AND THERE ARE SHORTAGES OF FOOD, FUEL, AND MEDICAL CARE. Travel in this region is dangerous and potentially deadly. Yet WME Native Missionaries are continuing their work feeding the hungry, aiding the displaced, witnessing to the lost, and providing safety to those caught in the crossfire. They are showing incredible courage as they march into dangerous areas to reach men, women, and children in harm’s way. Although we would all like to see a quick resolution for this conflict, we’re preparing for both the short and long term implications of the fighting and instability.


Know this, children living near the WME church and school in the community of Masaya are in a high-risk area and are experiencing the


conflict first-hand. They and their families are surrounded by danger and violence. They are literally living in a powder keg!


While we have listed specific needs on this page that we need to address, as this is a very liquid situation you might want to consider giving to NICARAGUA RELIEF. That will allow us to quickly apply your gift in a way that is most needed at that specific moment. We also ask that you pray for all those caught in harm’s way and for the nation’s leaders to find a way to bring peace.
