How to Apply


Students will be admitted at age 11 without reference to ability or aptitude provided applications are received by the deadline of mid- day 31 October. The number of allowed admissions for the year commencing 1 September will be 180.


Due to significant rising trends we strongly recommend that parents must place Matravers as their “First Preference” and apply on time if they are to secure a place.


Matravers, a Foundation School, provides high-quality, traditional and bespoke education for children from a range of locations. We admit children from Westbury and the surrounding villages alongside children from Warminster, Trowbridge and Bath areas also.

For entry into Year 7 at any other time or for entry into other year groups, please contact our Admissions Team via the Main School Office phone number, to see if we have any spaces.


We welcome visits from prospective parents at any time and do not operate fixed open days. We believe that parents want to see a school operating at a time convenient to them. Prospective parents meet the Headteacher for a personal tour of the site and are able to see our superb school in action.
