Outdoor Education


Matravers offers a wide range of Outdoor Education Activities. We have built upon a foundation of Outdoor participation to design a unique programme for education. As a school we have invested in equipment to ensure students have no restrictions in participation and future interest. Our programme enables the learning of Outdoor Skills such as Navigation, Survival and Cooking to allow students to achieve national governing body awards to reflect personal skill and Leadership.


Our vast programmes include:


• National Navigation Award Scheme;


• Ten Tors Challenge; • The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme;


• Expeditions; • Assistant Basic Expedition Leader Award;


• Bushcraft.


Our Outdoor Education programme provides the building blocks for developing character within our students.


Combined Cadet Force


We are proud and delighted to parade our own Air Cadet Unit on-site. Our recruits access a wide variety of training and skills within a thriving environment.
