Eddie REDMAYNE
Slim, trim and blessed with a lithe, spare body, Eddie Redmayne is a natural when it comes to sporting his particular cut of suit, so repeated as to have become something of his sartorial DNA. Always closely fitted he never seems to vary the favoured 2-button coat approach and extra slim lapels - both elements concentrating attention on the waist. Whether loud checks, plains or marl, the actor’s look for the red carpet is assured and simple and he chooses from Gucci to Burberry, Alexander McQueen to Topman. As long as the trousers are ultra slim and narrow as possible, the Redmayne effect is assured. But it is that superb coat he sported in The Danish Girl (2015) that packs the best tailoring punch for him - to date.

Gary COOPER
Despite channelling formality on and off screen, Gary Cooper’s suits always seemed fluid and relaxed too, softening the stricter lines of traditional sartoria with plump cravats and statement bow ties in eye-catching patterns. This might also have something to do with his off-balanced gait (the result of a car crash which left him with a damaged hip). Apart from the several Westerns, he cut a fine figure in sleek lines for such films as Today We Live (1933), Mr. Deeds goes to Town (1936) and Love in the Afternoon (1957). There is something of the studied negligence about his choices.
