This year, the TV250 judges and sponsors presented a special Achievement Award to recognise a business “that in many ways is the flagship private company of the Thames Valley”.
The award went to Westcoast, which has overtaken Thames Water at the top of the TV250 list, with sales of over £2.2 billion.
What the judges said: Our winner is the world-leading specialist in its chosen field, with dealerships in 48 countries and overseas sales accounting for the vast majority of turnover. This company, home- grown in the Thames Valley, was founded over 20 years ago and is still based in Oxfordshire. It has also demonstrated its dedication to the local community by starting an apprenticeship programme for local children.

What the judges said: A global designer, manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of medical devices for respiratory support for over 35 years’ experience. The company believes the best way to maintain the highest standards in design, manufacture, quality and customer care is to have complete control of production and sales process. Our winner is a company that continues to exceed growth targets year in and year out, while bringing to market new products that make a real positive difference to the lives of thousands of patients globally.

What the judges said: We could not help but be impressed by the fast growth of this company, founded in 2011, which turned over £25m last year and is forecast to turn over £38m this year. It’s a privately-owned, debt-free and profitable Newbury-based business and technology services provider. The company has an impressive list of clients, and was recently ranked in The Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100 league table, which ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest growing profits over three years.
