THE AWARD WINNERS
Industrial/Logistics Consultancy of the Year
The judges’ evaluation used commercial sector deal-volume data, collated and checked by category sponsor CoStar, based on the past year’s regional activity.
WINNER: Lambert Smith Hampton
Robin Dickens, LSH director and head of the I&L South Coast division commented afterwards: “What have we done differently this year? Well, it’s still a mixture of enthusiasm and experience, but we recognise that the competition is getting harder so we work harder as a result.
“We remain very client focused and one of our major ‘plusses’ is that our capital markets team and agency team work very closely together. This award is a great accolade and obviously it’s a fun evening but there is a serious side to it as well, and we’d like to keep doing the deals and maintaining our place ahead of the competition.”

The judges’ evaluation used commercial sector information on completed office deal volumes, collated and checked by CoStar.
WINNER: Hughes Ellard
Since the SCPA assessment, Hughes Ellard and Vail Williams have merged to form a single full-service agency.
Joe Walker, associate director with Hughes Ellard (now Vail Williams) commented: “This is a very nice way to cap off our time as Hughes Ellard. The agency team had a very successful year and it means a lot to us to win awards; it’s nice to be recognised for the good work we do for clients.
“We have strong track record in office agency and the recent merger with Vail Williams has really strengthened our position within the market. Our agency now combines offerings that as Hughes Ellard we weren’t able to offer and we look forward to providing a more comprehensive and well-rounded client service.”

Business Park Innovation of the Year Workplace Environment of the Year WINNER: Daedalus, Solent Airport
Delighted Fareham councillor Trevor Cartwright explained that the council’s two new business parks at Lee-on-Solent’s former HMS Daedalus have become premier locations for aviation, aerospace, marine, engineering and advanced manufacturing businesses. With Fareham Innovation Centre being onsite, the new Daedalus has ‘built-in’ innovation. Run by Oxford Innovation and assisted by Solent LEP, the FIC recently gained a £7m extension of its facilities.
Park businesses can gain potential apprentices direct from the neighbouring Centre of Excellence in Engineering, Manufacturing and Advanced Skills Training (CEMAST), which has strong links with local industry and major companies. Plus, onsite businesses benefit from Solent Airport transportation access provided by Regional & City Airports.
“The innovation is that it was a derelict aerodrome and we have introduced all these business aspects to the location, which brings in fresh employment,” added Cartwright.
FINALISTS: • Merlin Park, Portsmouth
• University of Southampton Science Park

The right workplace environments achieve productivity, staff recruitment and retention, and general wellbeing.
WINNER: Grant Thornton offices, Southampton Science Park
Amanda James, Grant Thornton associate director, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have taken home our first award for our collaborative space, and having the work that went into the design recognised. The whole team was involved in the vision for this vibrant workspace, with its purpose of creating a place to help make new connections, exchange ideas and think more creatively.
“The space encourages and empowers all our people to choose where and how they work, promoting agility, increasing productivity and morale, and reducing ‘silo-working’ which can be a feature of professional services offices. With a range of spaces and pods for meetings, events or a place to work, this space is available to all who share our vision for a connected and collaborative working environment.” (Visit or book this award- winning workspace by contacting:
