Name: Craig Harrison

Company: Beeline Promotional Products Ltd

Job Title: General manager

What does your company do? We are suppliers of branded merchandise and corporate wear, a one-stop shop for all your promotional needs for increasing your marketing activity and brand awareness.

How did it all start? Peter (our current MD), saw a gap in the market and took the plunge. Despite quite a few sleepless nights I’m sure he doesn’t regret it, we are proud to be celebrating our 25th anniversary in November this year.

What’s your greatest achievement so far? Completing a 100k ultra-marathon in July 2016 was my number one, so much so by the time you read this I will have finished my second one along the Jurassic Coast.

What is the biggest risk you’ve ever taken – and did it work out? Leaving a job with great financial prospects to start again at Beeline in 2006, I’m still here now so I think it did.

What keeps you awake at night? Golf – I try to leave the office at the end of the day and have me time, this normally involves over analysing everything I failed to get right in my last round.

If you could turn the clock back, what would you do differently? I don’t do regrets, every decision I made was right at the time but maybe I could have stayed on at school, life could’ve been different but I don’t think it could be better.

What has surprised you most in your job? How much things stay the same, we’re always being told things are

changing and improving but look around we are still using a lot of what we always have and I think it’s great.

What advice would you give to someone starting out? Sell yourself – be you, always be you. I believe in investing in and working with people, don’t worry about being what you think people want.

Which business do you most admire? Sky – take a look where football was pre-Sky. They took English football to a whole new place – they made themselves an iconic brand and the leadership at the time is to be applauded for that.

What exciting projects is your business working on? We’re working on celebrating our first 25 years and setting the foundations for the next 25 years and beyond.

What made you join Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce and how are you making use of your membership? We wanted to improve our visibility within Birmingham and from joining as standard members in October 2016 to where we are less than two years later as 1813 members now we couldn’t be happier. All aspects of the Chamber have

been great, the expos and the networking have really worked for us and coupled with the great support within the chamber team from our relationship manager and beyond I really feel we are going in the right direction and look forward to seeing our relationship develop in the coming years.
