Corporate Christmas

A Christmas party that gets creative

Christmas is that wonderful time of the year when we all get to share a celebratory experience with our colleagues – there are so many ways to make it unique and truly memorable for all the right reasons. Nicky Whyman (pictured), commercial director at the award-winning KDM Events, offers her advice on the best Christmas party options.

Depending on your budget and group size, you’ll be considering whether to choose a sharer party or booking a private space to create your own. Shared parties are a great solution when you have small groups or tight budgets and there are a wide range of great venues offering joiner parties from country house sit down dinner experiences to the more informal quirky surroundings of science museums or theatres!

Being creative with little extras

will give a more special feel to the evening, so consider things like gift bags, extra table drinks, keep sake photos and taxi/coach transfers which all go a long way to making an event more personal. But when the occasion does

allow for it, choose a blank canvas private space (and there are lots

around Birmingham and the West Midlands areas) that allow for the creation of a bespoke themed experience. And here are four amazing theme ideas to fire up your imagination and give a new spin to your Christmas parties. This setting of glitz, razzmatazz

and high energy of a Las Vegas Lounge really gives lots of room for inspiration. Ceiling and walls draped with plush swags and a central glittering LED chandelier, mirrored on the dining tables with LED centrepieces featuring drops of foils and crystals. Costumed hosts with champagne skirts (the glasses are all resting in the costumed entertainer’s huge wire skirt!) can start the interactive entertainment.

Follow this with a Flash Mob

dance where your waiters come together to perform a surprise routine during dinner or perhaps LED drummers adding to the glitz and wow of the setting. A lounge tribute after dinner such as Take That or Rat Pack really gets the party started and fun money casino games round off the night whilst the guest dance on to the DJ. Staying in the States, a Trip to

Tinsel Town is always a great way to celebrate. Gold and black room dressing, glitter cameras as centrepieces and giant LED lit film props create an exciting setting. Marilyn Monroe could meet you at the door, along with Daniel Craig and other top look-a- likes waiting to schmooze
