Stairway to heaven: Staff offer a warm welcome at The Ivy

Chamber welcomes The Ivy as its milestone 3,000th member

The Ivy Collection, Birmingham’s take on the iconic London restaurant, has become the 3,000th member of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC). A sister restaurant of the famous 100-year-old brasserie in Covent

Garden, the Temple Row venue has established itself as a cornerstone of the Birmingham restaurant scene in just five months. The 135-cover brasserie, open seven days a week, has made its mark by

serving an extensive all-day menu of breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, cocktails, weekend brunch and dinner. Paul Faulkner, chief executive of the GBCC, said: “We are delighted to

celebrate our 3,000th member milestone with such an iconic business as The Ivy. “The brasserie has quickly proved to be a popular destination with its

stunning interior and a menu which partly mirrors The Ivy in London, featuring a selection of modern British classics and internationally inspired dishes.” These include The Ivy Collection shepherd’s pie, a truffle chicken sandwich and seasonal grilled fish, as well as light and healthy brunch options, afternoon teas and an extensive cocktail menu. Overlooking St Philip’s Cathedral, The Ivy Collection handpicked the

location for its first opening in the West Midlands having noted the thriving food and beverage culture in the city.

The artwork bordering the room, and mezzanine level, depicts the

history of Birmingham and St Philip’s. General manager Liz Burton said: “It is exciting for the whole city to have

another reputable brand choose to open here. I’ve worked all around the world, but Birmingham is home, and the city is in a golden era for foodies, so I’m really eager to see the scene grow. The opening period has been excellent, and the people of Birmingham have been exceptionally welcoming.” The Ivy Temple Row has already created limited-edition desserts for Birmingham Pride and Warwickshire Cricket Club, partnered with the Birmingham Classic tennis tournament and it will be hosting the winners of the Future Faces awards for a winners’ brunch. The Ivy in London celebrated its 100th anniversary last year and in the

lead-up there was an extensive refurbishment. Martin Brudnizki Design Studio was employed to bring the restaurant,

bar and private room into the present day, while retaining the essence of what made The Ivy a special place.
