Business News The Griffin Report

Crowe UK have been leading UK accountants for over 175 years, including 130 in the Greater Birmingham region. Johnathan Dudley, Crowe’s Midlands managing partner, gave Chamberlink’s award-winning columnist Jon Griffin a fascinating insight into past and future changes.

Leading UK accountants Crowe are not losing sight of the principles developed over 175 years to help guide businesses on the cusp of Britain's fourth Industrial Revolution. The renowned audit, tax advisory

and risk firm remains firmly focused on the needs of clients at a time of unprecedented change in the way people work now and in the future, says Crowe’s Midlands managing partner Johnathan Dudley. Johnathan, a veteran of 30 years’

service with the firm, said the key to the success of Crowe was abiding by long-held values to meet the varying demands of a fast-moving business world. ‘’We pride ourselves on making

and helping our clients make smart decisions to create lasting value here at Crowe. Keeping clients at the very centre of what we are and do is just one of those.’’ The partner, who is also national

head of manufacturing for Crowe, hailed the growth of the firm in recent years, during which they have set up bases in Oldbury and Birmingham city centre. And he gave Chamberlink a

fascinating insight into changes ahead in the industrial sector and the likely impact on manufacturing in coming years. Crowe has enjoyed national

growth in modern times but its roots go all the way back to the early Victorian era, when William Edwards set up as an accountant in London in 1843. Since those early days the firm

has been through many incarnations to become today’s UK- wide national firm with global reach and local expertise. But Johnathan said Crowe had

always remained true to its principles – and was now looking forward to a new era of economic prosperity for the West Midlands. “Most of the manufacturers I talk

to are quite positive about the short term, they have got work on at the moment. There is, however, potential nervousness about the future, with the uncertainty of what the Brexit deal will be and what it will mean in practice for their business, their customers and supply chain.
