Holt Primary School achieve Gold Kite Mark
Schools from across Wiltshire and Swindon have been able to access the School Games Kite Mark for the last two academic years. We are pleased to announce that Holt Primary School achieved the Bronze level award last year, and set their sight on Silver this year by making some alterations to their provision.
Jo Hodge, the PE subject lead from Holt Primary School focused on some key areas such as introducing a cultural element to their School Games day in the summer, Keeping a close eye on the number and variety of students accessing inter school opportunities and ensuring the pupils had a role to play in leading inter school competitions. Holt were chosen for an external verification of the award and were visited by researchers from Sheffield Hallam, not only have they been awarded Silver but the school were recommended to be upgraded to Gold. Congratulations to the School and their efforts. The task now is to sustain this kite mark for the next academic year. Holt school pupils were also involved in the Opening Ceremony of the Wiltshire School Games at Marlborough with a dance performance which entertained the crowd.

To prove how much the students had learnt in the afternoon the teams played in a round robin. The students all showed great skills and put in many hard tackles.
The final results were:
1st St Johns B 25 points 2nd St Johns A 20 points 3rd Wellington A 16 points 4th Wellington B 9 points 5th Avon Valley College 8 points 6th Avon valley College 0 points
