Two members of the UW Vocal Arts Area, Dr. Katrina Zook and Dr. Holly Dalrymple, along wi Dean of the College of Health Sciences Dr. David L. Jones, were awarded an Interdisciplinary Se through the College of Arts and Sciences. Grant monies have gone toward the foundation of a Vo Lab, which will house equipment and resources used in service of analyzing vocal and pulmonar assessing and fostering healthy vocal habits, and will promote a climate of scientific inquiry amo students and instrumentalists alike.
UW Music Department Highlights
University of Wyoming Bel Canto Women’s Chorus was selected by a blind audition to perform for the American Choral Directors Association Northwest Conference in March of 2018. The women traveled by bus to Portland, OR to represent the University and Wyoming.
• The University of Wyoming Collegiate Chorale, under the direction of Nicole Lamartine, was the only choir from the US selected to compete in the 49th Tolosa Choral Contest in Tolosa, Spain, October 29 through November 6, 2017.
The Western Thunder Marching Band (WTMB) traveled to Boise, Idaho for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The football team beat Central Michigan 37-14 for its first bowl game win since the 2009 New Mex- ico Bowl.

In addition to UW students, the album featured renowned guest trumpeter Terell Stafford as well as UW faculty members Ben Markley, Ryan Fourt, and Scott Turpen. Repertoire included a world premiere: A Shiloh Ranch, A Wyoming Tone Po- em, by Steve Reisteter. They also were thrilled to play the opening-night concert at the 2018 Wyoming All- State in Evanston.
