SBHB wrap up ... We are welcoming some new faces into our music district this year. We’d like to welcome Ms. Nicole Rabat, Director of Choirs at Rawlins High School, Karen Loveland, Director of Choirs at Green River High, Quinn Kalinski, Director of Bands at Green River High School.
In other news, Cami Kistemann took her Lander Valley High School choir students to New York to perform at Carnegie Hall with Z. Randall Stroope. They submitted an audition in May of 2017 and were accepted to perform under the direction of Dr. Stroope in April of 2018. Participating students rehearsed for three hours a day, saw two Broadway productions, watched “The Real Group” perform vocal jazz at the Apollo, and saw everything they could in the span of three full days. At the end of their Concert, they enjoyed an after party at Planet Hollywood on Time Square. It was a wonderful experience for students from Lander to participate with Manhattan Concert Productions and perform in Carnegie Hall.
Our upcoming dates for the year are as follows: District Clinic is November 15-16, 2018, at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, and our District Festival will be April 9-10, 2019, at Lander Valley High School.
The South Big Horn Basin music district hopes that all of your years are off to a great start and you have a musical year.

Did you know ... The Guinness World Record for the largest orchestra was 7,224 musicians at the 2013 Queensland Music Festival? According to the event coordinator, the biggest problem was getting all the musicians to play together. Sound familiar?
