hat an exciting time! Conference atendees have returned to the office and started to put their new knowledge to work, family vacations are underway, and life is good feeling the sun on your face. More and more, however, we are hearing that


summers are increasingly busy, though. Tere aren’t many “lazy days of summer.” I encourage everyone, however, to find a sunny spot or a shady spot in the garden to


sit back and relax while gaining further education by reading this issue of DATIA focus. Whether learning about the important responsibilities of a DER, benefiting from recent legal cases to prevent losses, or gaining insight into the reasons to counsel clients to continue testing for marijuana and how to deal with prescription drug abuse in the workplace, this issue has current and comprehensive information for all. What beter way to relax and re- energize for a busy fall. And yes, there’s even a conference recap for those that missed the conference, along


with information on how to gain access to recorded conference sessions. Learning is a never-ending project, and DATIA is proud to offer so many differing options and means for providing continuing education to its members.
