While attending the 2018 conference in New Orleans, I was able to learn new marketing strategies that I was able to put into place and have started to observe some benefits as a result.

What was your reason for joining DATIA? We joined DATIA for the valuable networking potential within the industry. We find it essential to meet and learn from colleagues in the industry, especially while starting out as a new business.

What resources and/or events do you receive from DATIA that help you in your role and/or help your organization? DATIA’s educational resources and training available to members is excellent. DATIA has also served as an avenue of knowledge with regards to keeping me up to date with government legislation and policy.

What is the biggest challenge you or your company is facing right now, and how could DATIA help you to

overcome this challenge? The largest challenge we are finding as a new business is how to market the business and increase our market share of the industry in Fresno. While attending the 2018 conference in New Orleans, I was able to learn new marketing strategies that I was able to put into place and have started to observe some benefits as a result.

What is the biggest challenge you see facing the industry today? Being from California, the changes to legislation regarding the legalization of marijuana is front and center in most meetings with perspective clients. Many employers are not receiving correct information regarding marijuana in the workplace and have not updated their policies to reflect the new legislation.

Did you attend the 2018 DATIA Conference and Expo? If so, what were your expectations and what did you accomplish by attending? I did atend the 2018 DATIA Conference and Expo. I expected to get a beter understanding of DATIA; its philosophy, resources and advocacy that it supports. I was impressed with the conference, and I had the opportunity to network with many TPAs, vendors, and laboratory representatives, many of whom I still communicate with today. ❚
