and waste management, councils and the public sector, commercial and industrial, community and residential, as well as grid balancing services Short Term Operating Reserve and the Demand Side-Response. Edina is currently working with a number of
high profile clients, such as; BAE Systems Portsmouth Naval Base in delivering a 13.5MWe CHP plant to maintain security of power at site. Steam will be recovered from the CHP
exhaust to provide space heating and the electricity generated will be used to power the onsite infrastructure, increasing the power capacity available at the Naval Base. In the event of a mains failure at site, the
three MWM TCG 2032 engines rated at 4.5WME each are capable of Island Mode operation, providing mission critical and maintaining security of power supply. It is anticipated that the CHP plant will save
£4million in energy costs for the Ministry of Defence. E.ON’s Elephant Park – Edina’s 1.6MWe
CHP plant will power the district heating scheme used to generate and supply net zero carbon heat and hot water to homes, commercial premises and community and leisure spaces across Elephant Park. Cranbrook - a newly developed town in
east Devon, north of Exeter Airport, has its own Energy Centre located on the £120 million Skypark Business Park.
Edina’s 2MWe CHP plant will provide
electricity and heat as part of the project’s district heating scheme to homes and buildings, initially consisting of 2,900 residential properties, rising to up to 6,551 properties by 2027. The heat network will provide an affordable
supply of heating and hot water on demand, removing the need for individual property boilers, and eliminating maintenance or replacement costs. Gateshead District Energy Scheme, which
became operational in March 2017, is already benefiting from Edina’s 4MWe CHP power plant and is estimated to generate enough electricity to power 5,000 homes. The project also includes battery storage
facilities and is providing balancing services to the National Grid as part of the Capacity Market, which is expected to unlock a further £1million worth of revenue for the council over a 15-year period. The project, which encompasses a
multitude of technologies, was awarded ‘Visionary Project of the Year’ at the Association of Decentralised Energy’s annual awards ceremony 2017. Working directly with parent company
EESL, Edina will maximise EESL’s affiliation with the Indian government to explore opportunities for the adoption of trigeneration technology. India’s burgeoning demand for cooling and

chilling equipment is expected to witness unprecedented growth, with real estate expected to reach US$150billion by 2020. Commercial real estate, airports and service industries are expected to drive the bulk of demand for tri-generation technology. In Australia, Edina recently won a contract
to supply and install a 1.2MWe CHP plant at Ti-Tree Bioenergy - a major advancement in waste management which utilises “best practice” to dramatically accelerate the rate of waste stabilisation, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and utilises the biogas produced by the waste (mostly methane) to produce electricity via the CHP plant. At the recent UK AD & World Biogas 2018
Awards, Edina was named ‘AD Team of the Year’ and will use its expertise in the sector to expand its existing operations within Australia, building on its success in supplying biogas fuelled CHP plants as part of the country’s procurement
technology. Elsewhere, in the UK and Ireland, Edina will
continue to deliver recognised CHP solutions and expand its portfolio of projects. Its manufacturing facility based in Lisburn,
Northern Ireland will also see expansion, catering for the demand for its in-house engineered and modular containerised solution. Edina’s new CEO, Hugh Richmond,
comments; “Edina has a long standing reputation in delivering recognised CHP and gas powered solutions within the UK and Ireland. Our aim is to replicate our domestic success in international markets, and build upon EESL’s established innovative models for scaling energy efficiency globally. “As we embark upon a new chapter within our
growth history, we have set ourselves a rather ambitious strategy of a £250 million turnover by 2021.” For more information about Edina, and to
