IF YOU WANNA GO FASTER STREAM

Hello, and welcome to this issue’s roundup of what’s streaming soon on Netflix, Amazon, and Now TV. Of course, I’m sure that you’ll all be outside enjoying the sunshine, but all it will take is a little bit of rain and then were all back to that familiar cry of “I’ll just watch one more episode…”

Now TV Now TV, frankly, is a bit underwhelming

this month. What with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which has been out for aaaaages, and on the TV side of things, Westworld, which is awesome, but has just been shown week-by-week so is hardly a big deal for them, all they’ve done is to put all the episodes into one folder… However, look hard enough and some gems shine through the dirt. Gems such as The Infiltrator, starring Brian Cranston. Everyone’s favourite chemist- the-menace plays Robert Mazur, the real- life federal agent who infiltrated Pablo Escobar’s cartel in the 1980s. Also, there’s Amy of One, a bizarre but interesting movie about a jobless American played by Nicholas Cage, who travels to Pakistan to attempt to capture Osama Bin Laden. Why? Because he believes that he is on a mission from God. God, who incidentally happens to be played by Russell Brand. It’s a true story, honest.

Amazon Amazon is looking a little better with

the long-advertised Jack Ryan series Disenchantment

starring John Krasinski starting. Early indications seem to be that there’s good reason that Amazon have been telling us that this is due to drop for months, as reports of action filled episodes and non-shabby acting are coming in. For the football fans out there, I’ve also heard good things about All or Nothing: Manchester City, a docu-series narrated by Ben Kingsley following coach Pep Guardiola’s inspirational team talks, action off the pitch, and of course lots of people singing Wonderwall.

Netflix Lastly, we look at Netflix. Oh, Netflix,

how I love thee so. Better Call Saul returns for its fourth season, and I can’t wait to hoover the whole thing into my eyes in record time. Don’t worry if you are on a binge and do get carried away, however, because there’s also a new series of crime drama Ozark starring Jason Bateman to get through. If it’s something completely new that you’re aſter then there’s also the first season of Matt Groening’s (The Simpsons) new animated series, Disenchantment. Set in the medieval kingdom of Dreamland, the series follows the misadventures of rebellious Princess Bean. Early indications are that this is closer in tone to Futurama that The Simpsons, which is what you would expect from Netflix instead of a terrestrial channel. So, that’s all for this issue. Happy viewing.
