BBC MUSIC INTRODUCING IN NORFOLK AT
TRUNCHONBURY NEW MUSIC. NEW COMEDY + A PROFILE ON LUCY GRUBB
BBC Music Introducing in Norfolk and BBC New Comedy join forces for their first ever Festival gig at Trunchonbury! The event is on from the 24th to the 26th August and organisers aim for it to have all the trappings of a big festival – music, arts, drama, workshops – in a much smaller space. Think Glastonbury and WOMAD combined with less distance to walk! If you fancy a break from the City out to the countryside this Bank Holiday, we would love to see you there!
So, we’re going to be wearing two hats at the event! On stage on the aſternoon of Sunday 26th, BBC Music Introducing will be showcasing some great new music including (The) Red Dear, Emily Frith, Vic Allen and Lucy Grubb. We first met Lucy many years ago whilst playing Open Nights at the Brickmakers’ in Sprowston. We were making a film about the pub – but once we heard Lucy play, our ears pricked up and soon offered her a session on our Introducing show.

If you haven’t listened to our BBC New Comedy Show yet, just like Introducing supports new musicians, the show offers opportunities for new comedy talent. We run free sketch writing workshops and stand-up nights for anyone looking to take their first steps on the scene if you are interested in getting involved!
selected as one of the few UK acts to play on the BBC Introducing stage at the national BBC Countryfile Live event shows that her blend of warm country is melting hearts every time she sings.
Lucy released her debut EP (18 Miles) earlier in the year and those four tracks have done her a power of good in the time since, with gig offers and summer festival appearances seeming to have opened up for her with ease. Whether playing solo or with her band, it’s not hard to see why Lucy is gaining friends when you hear her, but an engaging and friendly personality off stage has helped make her the act that everyone wants to book right now.
