soon as Claire came into the shop she knew that she was the right person. Janice and Vernon had spent more than ten years getting the busi- ness up and running and established and they were keen that the business would continue. It is good for the

Claire has been very grateful for the help and support that both Janice and Vernon have offered. Of course, they know the business inside out, so to have their support over the first few weeks has been invaluable. So, what is Cards & Cele- brations? Well, if the name doesn’t give it away, this is a shop selling cards and any- thing else you could need for parties and celebratory events. Perhaps the shop is best known for the incredi- ble selection of specialist cards covering all ages and relations. In fact, such is the selection that customers travel from all over the area to stock up on cards for the year. In fact, there are even visitors from overseas who buy their years’ worth of cards whilst holidaying in the area. Being an independent business, everything here has been hand-selected and Claire will continue to offer a huge range of specialist cards. Naturally, over the next few weeks and months Claire will begin to add her own stamp on the business whilst continuing to stock the traditional ranges of cards and products which have proved so popular over the years. Claire suggests that there will be no whole- sale changes – why fix what isn’t broken? – but there will always be something new and different to see. Anyone who has visited

such a small shop, there is a tremendous amount of stock, you really can spend a good 15 minutes, or more, browsing. However, it would be impossible to stock everything that is available. Claire has great contacts with suppliers so if there is a specific product or item that a customer should want, she will be able to order it and have it in the shop ready for collection. It goes without saying that


much of the stock here is seasonal; Valentines, Easter, School Holiday, Halloween, Christmas, New Year etc. This goes for the cards as well as the various party items such as; candles, ban- ners, sashes, confetti, table decorations, helium bal- loons etc, as well as wrap- ping paper and gift bags. Everything you could want is here in this one magical little shop. Great customer service


has always been at the heart of what Janice and Vernon did here at Cards & Celebra- tions. That is not going to change. Claire will pick up where they left off and con- tinue to make service a pri- ority.
