Westleton Barrel Fair


THIS year’s Westleton Bar- rel Fair is our 24th and takes place on Sunday 19th August. It starts with a parade leaving the village hall at 11am. At 11.30 on the village green, the fair will be opened by Suffolk Coastal MP Dr Thérèse Cof- fey, followed by the judging of the children’s fancy dress competition. Barrel racing then begins with the fiercely contested race between teams from The White Horse and The Crown for the Robin Holmes and Jack Docwra Challenge Trophy. More bar- rel and fun races for all ages take place throughout the afternoon. There will be nu- merous places to relax, chill


out, eat and drink throughout the day. Lots of local stalls, entertainment, refreshments, children’s and adult’s games with many prizes to be won plus the 50/50 and Grand Prize Raffles. Live music from Zoe Berry, The Random Blues Company and Laurence French while Morris danc- ers from Rumburgh perform throughout the afternoon. On Saturday evening 18th


August there will be children’s entertainment in the car park of the White Horse from 6.30pm followed by live music from the five piece local band Handle with Care, back again for the second year. All this is FREE to the public

The quiz starts at 8.30pm and this will be Doc’s last ever so please come along, bring- ing your own beer, wine and picnic. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available. On Sunday we ask that visi-
