A Photo Gallery of KENTUCKY’s FAMOUS FOUR-STAR
Couldn’t make the 2018 Land Rover Kentucky four-star event at the Kentucky Horse Park? This year the weather was spectacular and the competition fierce, leaving spectators at the edge of their seats on Sunday during the final phase of show jumping. Journalist/photographer Amber Heintzberger was on the scene and provides us with a variety of spontaneous photos and who’s behind them.

Debbie used to event and following a brain injury she competes in para dres- sage. 3: Caroline Martin and The Apprentice performed a beautiful dressage test but withdrew before cross country, since they were headed for England to compete at Bramham CIC3* in the Under 25 division on a $25,000 Karen Stives Endowment Fund grant from the USET Foundation. 4: Irish Sport Horse Copper Beach, owned by Carl and Cassie Segal, finished 10th overall for rider Buck Davidson. 5: The stylish off-the-track Thoroughbred gelding Donner and Lynn Symansky finished 6th over- all. 6: Marilyn Little placed 3rd overall and was the US National Champion riding her 2015 Pan Am gold medalist partner, Oldenburg mare RF Scandalous (Carry Gold x Richardia, by Lario). They were at the top of the leaderboard after dressage. The pair caused a scandal when blood was spotted in the horse’s mouth on cross coun- try, but veterinarians declared the horse fit to continue the competition.
