By LiggyWebb

“Life is amatter of choices, and every choice you

makemakes you.” JohnC.Maxwell

We all have tomake choices every day of our lives and some of those are relatively straightforward and others are definitelymore challenging. Simple choices usually need a simple decision-making process.Difficult choices, however, typically involve awhole host of complex issues somaking ourminds up isn’t always easy. Very often there is uncertainty

wheremany factsmay not be known and youmay have to considermany interrelated factors. Every given situation has its own set of uncertainties and consequences, and anything that involves interpersonal issues can often be challenging as it difficult to predict howother people could respond. All in allmaking yourmind up

about something can sometimes be quite a challenging process!

Here are a fewtips tohelp toease theway…

Gain someperspective Before youmake up yourmind about something it is always a good idea to

step back fromthe situation and take some time to consider your options.Writing themdown and discussing themwith someone elsewill help you to gain perspective.

Doyour homework Even if you are inclined tomake a gut-driven choice it is important to gather asmuch information as you can so at least it is awell-informed decision.

Choosedesireover fear Sometimes the choiceswemake are driven by fear and avoiding failure. Stepping out of your comfort zones and taking a few risksmay lead you towards something farmore fulfilling and beneficial.

Accept that theremay be noperfect choice Making a difficult choice can be

stressful especiallywhen you believe that there is only one “right” choice and you just need towork outwhat it is.Very often each option has good and bad sides.Whatever choice you make in the endwill ultimately be determined by your own attitude towards it.

“It is our choices... that showwhat we truly are, far more than our abilities.” J. K. Rowling
