Baxter Regional Medical


Center (BRMC) is a non- profit hospital, located in Mountain Home, that serves patients from a two- state, 14-county area throughout north-central Arkansas and south-cen- tral Missouri. Opened as Baxter General Hospital in 1963, the acute-care hospi- tal began with 39 beds and four physicians on staff. Today, the facility is a 268 all-private bed facility with more more than 100 pri- mary care, mid-level and specialist physicians on the medical staff. The hospital encompasses 500,000 square feet of space and is the largest employer in Baxter County with over 1,550 employees and more than 500 volunteers. The

Since 1988, the Baxter


Regional Hospital Founda- tion (BRHF) has made an unyielding commitment to Baxter Regional Medical Center (BRMC) to provide the funding needed to en- sure the best healthcare possible for the communi- ties served by BRMC. BRHF uses community gifts to help BRMC with building or maintaining its facilities


and buying new equipment and the latest technology provide healthcare and medical scholarships to area students and support the Community Health Education & Support Houses. In 2017, 128 scholarships


were awarded to area stu- dents pursuing degrees in healthcare related fields. These scholarships are funded through endow- ments set up by individual donors who wanted to pro- vide for BRMC’s ongoing need for healthcare profes- sionals. These endowments provide a permanent fund- ing source for these schol- arships. Each year, the Baxter
