Water and Sewer Department
The Mountain Home Wa-
ter and Sewer Department is at 752 N. College St. Alma Clark is the director. Mountain Home’s water
source is Norfork Lake. Along with the city, the de- partment serves outlying areas as well. The water treatment plant is designed with an 8 million-gallon-per- day pumping capacity. The sewer treatment plant has a 5 million-gallon-per-day treatment capacity. New residential water
customers pay a $125 depos- it, which includes a $30 con-
nection fee. Commercial users pay a $219 deposit that includes a $30 connection fee. Deposits are applied to customers’ final bills with any remaining balance

Ifland issues construction- related permits and provides plan review and inspections for building, plumbing, gas,
mechanical and electrical construction in the city. He also issues business licenses and permits relating to ga- rage sales, dog tags and the city farmers’ market. The office works with the plan- ning commission, which recommends to the city council whether subdivision plats, rezonings, annexations or variances should be ap- proved. The planning com- mission’s jurisdiction extends 1 mile beyond
