Honours for Made In Kent apprenticeship scheme
An apprenticeship scheme from Kent County Council has received an accolade at a national awards scheme, which recognised the quality of the initiative.
The Made In Kent campaign
was honoured for the manner in which it had promoted its scheme, which has benefi tted a large number of young people across the county.
The local authority was named A purple patch for Canterbury’s nightlife
Canterbury’s vibrant nightlife has been recognised with a Purple Flag award for its thriving evening economy, bolstered by a large student population.
Similar to the Blue Flag scheme for beaches, the accolade marks the fact that the area provides a mix of entertainment while promoting the safety and wellbeing of visitors and its residents between the hours of 5pm and 5am. Business Improvement District (BID)
board members, Blake McCaskill and Stuart O’Leary accepted the highly sought-after accolade on behalf of the city at a ceremony in Chester.
This is the fourth time since 2011 Canterbury has received the award. The campaign has been led and coordinated by Canterbury Connected Business Improvement District.
