City Sound Project In The Park is a free event, taking place over the Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th May (Bank Holiday weekend) in Dane John Gardens, Watling

Street, Canterbury CT1 1YW. Full artist line-up, food traders and boutique bars to be announced soon. For more information, visit www.cspinthepark.com

year almost 10,000 people enjoyed the free festival and this year the organisers expect more than 15,000 people of all ages across the two days, making it Canterbury’s single biggest music event!

Something for everyone to enjoy

Expect a diverse line-up of cross-genre acts, ranging from full brass bands to spoken word poets and a whole array of other performers, artists, DJs, comedians and musicians brimming with talent. • Children can enjoy their own special area too, with face-painting, street entertainers, workshops and a dedicated second stage programmed with a host of acts perfect for little ones.

• Last year the iconic bandstand main stage played host to the likes of CoCo and the Butterfields, the House Gospel Choir, Gentleman of Few and local heroes High Tide. DJs included Jazz Beams and Dolly DooWop’s Dance Club amongst many more. • This year’s festival party-goers can indulge in an even larger line-up (to be announced) guaranteed to soundtrack the Bank Holiday weekend perfectly.

And on the side…

Alongside the live entertainment, boutique bars and a range of the best street food vendors will line the side of Dane John Gardens, as well as independent and unique traders aplenty.

In line with the grassroots ethos of the festival, a firm dedication to championing local businesses will be upheld, with a large majority of traders already operating within the city walls or being based within the immediate area. Expect nothing but the best and most interesting locally-sourced food and drink that Canterbury and the surrounding villages have to offer!

Join the party in the park!

Whether you want to lounge on the grass with a cider in the sun, spend some quality time with your family, get down to an amazing band, or dance away into the evening to a wicked DJ, City Sound Project In The Park aims to deliver families and revellers alike the perfect day out to start summer and transform Dane John Gardens into an amazing not-to-be missed British festival experience unlike anything Canterbury has seen before!
