Bristol firm hosts ‘Planet Earth’ event
Bristol law firm Clarke Willmott LLP hosted a special evening with award-winning BBC producer Dr. Chadden Hunter who revealed the secrets of making Planet Earth II, the TV phenomenon that captured the imaginations of viewers around the world. Clients, staff and suppliers were
treated to an evening of exclusive insights, networking, drinks and canapés as Dr. Hunter gave a behind-the-scenes look at the life of the filmmaking team, from wading in the Okavango Delta to being chased by grizzly bears in the Canadian tundra. As well as highlighting the beauty
of the natural world, Chadden also emphasised its fragility and included a serious message about the need for conservation and explained how this message has been increasingly weaved into programmes in recent years.
Also talking about his experience working on other flagship BBC wildlife programmes like Planet Earth and Frozen Planet, Dr. Hunter explained how new technology enabled the film crew to take viewers on a more immersive journey into the animal kingdom before sharing never- seen-before footage from the series.
Menekse Meech, solicitor in the Corporate Team at Clarke Willmott, said: “It was a very enjoyable event and great to meet so many likeminded people keen to build

their business networks within the city. The talk was our first ‘Next Gen’ event to be held in Bristol, and was intended to be a relaxed networking opportunity for junior professionals in the city. Chadden’s unique sense of storytelling added to the whole enjoyment of the evening.” Dr. Chadden Hunter is an Australian wildlife biologist and
filmmaker. After completing a PhD on gelada baboons in Ethiopia, Chadden worked with National Geographic and the Discovery Channel, filming everything from tribes in Africa to snow leopards in Pakistan.
