Black Sea MedCruise is a great family, one in which all of us find support, cooperation, understanding and help each other grow together, improve our good practice and speak the same language in the field of cruises. From my position as Director of the Black Sea area, I fully acknowledge the important impact of being part of the Association and the worthiness of being all together as one. I am proud to be part of MedCruise and I know I have an extra duty to do all my best and to personally involve in the development of this industry.

Theodora Riga Piraeus, Greece

Cooperation with other Associations Recognising the common interests of MedCruise Members and other Associations in the cruise industry, I am honoured to have the opportunity to cooperate with all of the Associations such as CLIA, ESPO, Cruise Europe, IAPH, PIANC and all the International Cruise Port Associations Networks for a Pan European Dialogue that will serve and represent these interests, whilst bringing together each Association’s distinct areas of expertise and focus for everyone’s benefit. Sharing expertise and maintaining active and close collaboration has been common practice among MedCruise members for over 20 years and we look forward to extending our collaboration with all Associations.

Carla Salvado Kusadasi/Bodrum/Antalya, Turkey

New Source Markets MedCruise has proved to be a valuable platform to gather all the stakeholders of the Mediterranean cruise region and to unite forces to develop the cruise business and promote our ports mainly to cruise lines. After 20 years of work we must be proud of being a benchmark association. But we cannot rest on our laurels. The cruise industry is growing quickly in terms of new ships, new cruise areas, new ports and emerging source markets. In this global scenario, MedCruise has to expand its promotional actions to new targets. And being the cruise tourism a demand-driven one, it is time to promote the Mediterranean cruise destination in the source markets. I firmly believe that if someone had to create the ideal cruise area, the final design would be the Mediterranean. Let people know!

Thrasos Stavridopoulos Volos, Greece

European Union Affairs It has been a great honor for the Port of Volos and for me personally to be elected in the new MedCruise Board of Directors and to be in charge of European Union relations. I believe that in 2018 the Association will continue the important progress we all have achieved in the field of cooperation between ports as well as in the field of cooperation with European Union Bodies and other Associations, benefiting our members and promoting the cruise sector in the Mediterranean. I am sure that the new Board and the President will lead MedCruise Association to a succesful development.
