Genoa has developed into a thriving destination for cruise operators and today ranks amongst the leading Mediterranean cruise ports, with an annual throughput of approximately 1 million passengers. Stazioni Marittime SpA is the company which since 1989 has been operating Genoa’s five passenger terminals, featuring a total of 290,000sq mtr and 12 berths along 3,000mtr of quays. The two purpose-built cruise terminals, the monumental Ponte dei Mille and the art deco Ponte Andrea Doria, are both equipped to handle the latest generation of post-Panamax cruise ships, boasting respectively a 340mtr and 290mtr quay and two 300mtr berths. Access to the terminals is easy as the passenger port is located just 5km from Genoa International Airport and 200mtr from the railway station, and it is directly linked to the motorway. Ample car and bus parking areas are available adjacent to the cruise terminals. MSC Cruises, the world’s fastest growing cruise line, homeports at Genoa’s facilities, sailing to destinations in the west and east Med, North Africa and the Atlantic Islands.
