FACTFILE: CAWLEYS


BACKGROUND: Cawleys was launched by Reg Cawley and his wife Molly in Luton in 1947 and within a few years Reg’s brother Frank had joined the firm. In the early years the business focused on civil engineering and was involved in major road building projects such as the construction of the M1. In the 1970s the business moved into waste management services and it has concentrated on that ever since. Reg and Molly’s son Jon took over the running of the business in 1971 with his brother, Brian, joining him shortly after.


COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Cawleys is a leading independently owned waste and resource recycling company. It provides waste management services across the UK for thousands of organisations from small businesses to large corporate estates. The firm has won numerous awards for its recycling best practice and also offers a range of specialist services, including hazardous and liquid waste disposal, WEEE recycling, lithium battery and confidential waste disposal.
