Ottawa, ON, Jan. 25, 2018 – Winona Hartvikson of Lan- gley, BC and Canadian Paralympian, Lauren Barwick, who resides in Reddick, FL, topped the leaderboard for Canada during the second week of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) CPEDI 3*, held Jan. 19-21, 2018 in Wellington, FL. Hartvikson, partnered with her 11-year-old Andalu-


sian gelding, Ultimo (Invasor III x Teodoro), wowed the crowd during their second week of competition at the pres- tigious AGDF. The duo started out with back-to-back wins in the Grade I Team and Individual Tests, scoring 71.488% and 71.250%, respectively. They went on to earn their highest score yet on Jan. 21, dancing their way to second place in the Freestyle with a score of 73.333%. “My coach, Betsy Steiner, and her whole team


worked hard to help us do our best,” said Hartvikson. “To have a trainer of this calibre is fantastic.” After recently welcoming a new daughter to her fam-


ily, Barwick made her first appearance at the 2018 AGDF and produced top results in the Grade III division with both her chestnut mounts. She snagged second place across the board with Engelbrecht (Vivaldi x Rimini 41), her nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding. In the Team, the duo scored 67.402%, before continuing on an upward trajectory, earning 70.539% in the Individual, then finish- ing with 71.667% in the Freestyle. “Having a baby 10 weeks ago has been an amazing


experience, but being back in the saddle is sure nice,” said Barwick. “A huge thank you to my groom and husband, Fabian Brandt, nanny and assistant, Brenda Ladd, and coach, Erin Brinkman, who all came together to create a good event.” Barwick’s 2012 London Paralympics partner, the 17-


year-old Oldenburg mare, Off to Paris (Welthit 01 x Uni- form), followed Engelbrecht in the Individual to claim third place with a score of 68.186%. Barwick and Off to Paris also competed in the Team, scoring 64.755% for fifth place.

Toronto, ON, joined Hartvikson in the Grade I division with her 14-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, Lieu- tenant Lobin (Lobster x Fanal Prydsholm). The duo placed sixth in all three of their classes, scoring 67.917% in the Team, 67.202% in the Individual, and 68.611% in the Freestyle. Robyn Andrews of St. Johns, NL also competed in


the Grade I division. Riding her 2016 Rio Paralympic Games partner, the 17-year-old Friesian/Andalusian mare, Fancianna, Andrews placed eighth in the Team Test with a score of 65.476%, and 10th in the Individual with a score of 64.821%.


In the Grade IV division, Laura Hall


of Ladysmith, BC produced consistent results on her 15-year-old Dutch Warm- blood mare, Wendolin (Metall x Ame- thist). The duo claimed fourth in both the Individual and Freestyle, with a score of 66.667% in the former and 66.333% in the latter.
