1960s


Nancy Ann Miller ‘66 recently released a new poetry collection entitled Island Bound Mail, The collection is available for purchase on Amazon.


1980s


Pam Barit Nolan ‘80 has been busy and will be travelling with seven others to Nepal in September to raise funds for Adara Development. To learn more about the trek go to: https://adarapoonhilltrek.raisely. com. She continues to sell her book Bermuda Blessings at the Bookmart in Brown & Co and will also be doing a placement at St. Mary’s Church in Warwick on November 19th and December 10th. Alumni are welcome to come to hear her preach.


In May, Susan Avery ‘80 passed her Michigan Teacher Test for Certification in Learning Disabilities, and is now certified to teach all subjects K-8, as well as Special Education in Michigan. In December, Susan will graduate from Northern Michigan University with a Masters Degree in Education. Susan also shared that her daughter, Sarah, is starting her second year at the University of Michigan, and her son, Forrest, is a Senior at the local high school this year. Susan and her family live in northern Michigan where she reports that life is unhurried, although somewhat cold in the winter!


1990s


Lee-Ann Liles ’92 recently published a book of poetry Of Gods and Fathers, available in local bookstores and on Amazon. It includes poetry published in the US, UK, Canada and Bermuda, all pulled together into one volume. She is also currently writing a book, which should be ready in the winter, called The Hunger. It details everything Lee- Anne has learned over the 20+ years she has been writing and publishing. A new, creative, nonfiction essay, The Golden Rope, was published with Manatee Public Library’s 805 Lit + Art in


July, and was chosen by the Librarians for MPL, for the magazine.


Kelly Southern ‘93 took part in the Night of Champions 2017, in the bikini fitness category. She states, “I am very proud of the fact that I have fulfilled a long-term fitness goal and I am in the best shape of my life - after having three children, my youngest being 12 months old.”


BHS was very excited to welcome back alumnae Lauren (Rowntree) Botelho ’02, Nicole (Panchaud) Carter ’95 and Kim (Wheddon) Rose ’96 as staff members in September. Lauren and Nicole are Primary Academic Resource teachers and Kim will be teaching History, Global Politics and Theory of Knowledge in the Secondary Department.

Lisa (Haynes) LeBlanc ‘93, and husband Gary LeBlanc, welcomed their little miracles Jaxon Barro (Jax), 5lbs 11oz, and Cruz Dexter, 5lbs 13oz, born at 8:39am and 8:40am on Friday, July 28.


Congratulations to alumna Lucinda Spurling ‘93 (front row holding the clapperboard), who was awarded the top prize at the Houston International Film Festival for her screenplay, Me and Jezebel. Lucinda also recently wrapped up filming on her first feature film, Mother of All Secrets, which she shot in Bermuda in February 2017, and which is currently in post production.
