Business flourishes at 360fit when staff members are salaried and its footprint expands

hen I opened 360fit seven years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. I had been a personal train-


er for many years and was the top- paid trainer at the gym chain where I worked. Although I enjoyed my job, I hated that my contract with my em- ployer didn’t allow me to take on per- sonal training clients outside of the gym. So to get around this, I started running group outdoor bootcamps. I had never run a group class be-

I realized that my one-on-one clients would benefit greatly from seeing me once or twice a week and also partici- pating in a bootcamp. When I was contemplating open-


ing my own gym, I knew that my main goal would be to help clients reach their goals in a supportive environ- ment. I wanted clients who would come to the gym several times a week and who would spread the news about us through positive word of mouth. I opened my gym 360fit in 2010,


and at that time there was only one other small gym like mine in the area. Since that time, more than 50 other
