Our guest speaker was gillian Plant, hSCB, who provided a review of the Community Pharmacy Assurance framework one year on There was a keynote presentation from our Chief Pharmacist leyla hannbeck on the importance of procedures in pharmacy practice, and introducing our new suite of SOPs. we demonstrated the NPA’s data analysis tool local market Insight and showed how you can work Better with NPA resources. we were also delighted that NPA member Bernadette Brown from Cadham Pharmacy in Scotland joined us to describe how her pharmacy has transformed into a pharmacy health centre.
ASk yOUR PhARmACIST (AyP) wEEk The theme of this year’s AyP campaign was Discover your local Pharmacy, which allowed pharmacies to showcase the full range of pharmacy services - surprising people with what’s on offer on their doorstep. The message is very much about the network of pharmacy premises, what happens inside them and the people who work there. Pharmacy ‘Open Day’ materials for NPA members were available to help pharmacies hold Discover your local Pharmacy ‘open days’.
gENERAl DATA PROTECTION REgUlATIONS (gDPR): ARE yOU STARTINg TO PREPARE? The general Data Protection Regulations (gDPR) will come into effect in the Uk from 25 may 2018. many concepts and principles will be similar to the existing Data Protection Act requirements. however, the gDPR will introduce new elements and significantly enhanced measures regarding data protection. PRO DElIVERy mANAgER (PDm) Pro Delivery manager app, that allows community pharmacies to track deliveries is set for an upgrade following significant investment from the NPA. The app already helps many pharmacies streamline deliveries, improve record keeping and enhance patient safety. It will now be developed further to support more deliveries, meet forthcoming data protection requirements and other legislative obligations. See

NI welcomes new TePe Territory manager!
TePe has introduced Nicola jones as its new Territory manager in Ireland. Nicola brings with her a wealth of experience and a number of years working with pharmacies and will become the company’s new face in Ireland.
Nicola will be visiting dental surgeries and pharmacies in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to promote and educate all of the company’s customers in its broadening oral hygiene product range. Orders taken will still be placed via the wholesaler.
‘we view this step as a really positive one to invest in a country which is expanding fast,’ TePe said in a statement, ‘and we look forward to supporting Nicola as she grows the market.
Nicola joins the team working in Ireland, which comprises Siobhan kelleher, Dental hygienist and Tom Bailey, head of Sales, Pharmacy and Ireland.

Steve Anderson
Steve Anderson has assumed his role as managing Director Uk for the PhOENIX group in addition to his current responsibilities as managing Director wholesale Uk.
In this capacity, Steve succeeds Paul Smith, who will step down from the position as managing Director Uk after serving more than ten years. This decision was entirely his own and one that the PhOENIX management Board regrettably had to accept.
however, Paul Smith will remain with PhOENIX Uk as a Non-Executive Director to support the ongoing development of the business. The PhOENIX Board thanked Paul for his excellent work over 20 years in

Steve Anderson joined PhOENIX in October 2016, prior to which he worked for more than 30 years with the Celesio group in positions including Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director for Operations and Pharma Services. he has a masters in Business Administration and is a graduate of the harvard Business School.
