Consumer Protection Each province has its own legislation for consumer protection. FIC ensures that each club understands and com- plies to its respective province’s legis- lation (especially when dealing with contracts). This helps keep the indus- try safe from complaints and legal issues.


Prescription to Get Active In 2017, FIC has been supporting the Prescription to Get Active initiative by representing fitness facilities. The goal is to encourage doctors to prescribe ex- ercise to their patients who then take their prescriptions to fitness clubs.


National Health and Fitness Day (NHFD) On June 3, participating clubs en- couraged their members to take their friends and family members to their clubs for a free workout to promote the importance of physical activity. Involvement from clubs gained na- tional media attention and encouraged thousands of prospective members across the country to get active. FBC
