Solicitor scoops Plymouth Law Society top accolade

The Paramount team volunteering at the festival

Fundraising at Fishstock Festival

In September, after weeks of preparation and planning for all weathers, a handful of Paramount volunteers set up a stall at the Fishstock Festival in Brixham. Selling Jack Sprats, Fish &

Chip Shop Bites and Mac ‘n’ Cheese croquette, Paramount donated 100% of the proceeds of the day’s work to the Fishermen’s Mission. Paramount raised £886 on

the day - an amazing amount which was later topped up to £1,000 by the company. Fishermen are intrinsically

linked to Paramount’s work, as they face they face the danger, difficulty and poverty the industry often brings and the Fishermen’s Mission was an obvious choice for Paramount to support. The Fishermen’s Mission offers financial, pastoral and spiritual support as well as a vital emergency response service.

In October, family jewellers Drakes held their third Diamond Gala Ball at the Crowne Plaza, Plymouth in aid of well-known charity, St Luke’s Hospice. The team at Drakes was thrilled when it raised the phenomenal sum of £15,600. Over 330 guests attended and enjoyed a wonderful evening hosted by

David Fitzgerald. Guests enjoyed canapés, a two-course meal and were invited to take part in the Stand for a Grand Competition, where lucky winner Carole Roberts won an incredible £1,000 in cash to take home. The charity raffle and a live, silent auction offered fantastic prizes including a Vi-Spring Bed worth up to £5,000, an evening with local Chef Ben cooking for eight people, two sets of executive tickets for Manchester United and a BMW i8 for the weekend - which Ocean BMW donated three- times over when three guests were relentlessly trying to outbid each other.
