It appears as though it was only yesterday that we were running the Devon Business Show in Plymouth Pavilions and we are now talking about planning the next in June 2018. So, as Stephen Covey says in his book The 7


Habits of Highly Effective People, you should always begin with the end in mind. Consequently, we have considered how we


want the show to proceed next year and have come up with the following intentions:


A.To enable businesses in Devon and Cornwall to exhibit and showcase their wares


B. To enable networking in both a formal and informal environment


C. To enable learning D.To have fun.


Taking into account feedback from the 2017 show, we have started planning with the date being set as Wednesday 13 June 2018 at the same venue, Plymouth Pavilions. The main exhibition hall will be laid out


slightly differently so that visitors will be moved past all the exhibitors, with welcoming exhibition stands in the main entrance. We will feature a


refreshments bar in the centre of the exhibition hall to allow visitors and exhibitors to network over a hot drink. Once again, there will be the flexibility of three sizes of stand in both the exhibition hall and the entrance foyer. Speed networking will re-appear and this will


take place on the main stage. For the first time, we plan to open up and stage the Chamber’s highly successful City Conversations during the day with new personalities from around Devon

Business Show plans are underway


giving an update on the state of play within their sphere of influence - so that it is accessible to all who visit or exhibit at the show. As well as single businesses who wish to book


a stand, we will be pleased to hear about businesses that wish to share a stand so that they can spread their investment whilst maximising their exposure. Having firmed up many of our plans, we are


now looking for sponsors. The key opportunities are the Main Event sponsor and sponsorship of key activities such as Speed Networking or City Conversations. Sponsors will receive an exhibition space and a range of marketing and advertising opportunities as part of their investment. For those who wish for some marketing


exposure and yet cannot invest in the show, we are also offering a “leaflet drop” into the show goody bags for a modest investment. More details will be made known throughout


the coming weeks, through the various social media platforms that Devon Chamber uses to keep you updated.
