Essential Spotlight Don’t You Want Your Skin to be “Skinfully Pure”? A
goal of mine has always been to make artisan handcrafted products that people loved and wanted to buy. So, when a local farmer mentioned to me that she gives some of her goats’ milk to a friend who makes soap with it, naturally, I had to find out more. I signed up for a soap-making class and was hooked. I was inspired and knew immediately this was the begin- ning of my adventure.
As an aesthetician and spa owner, all-natural, paraben-free, phthalate-free, and palm oil-free ingredients are important to me. I don’t want random chemicals on my skin, so why would I put them on anyone else’s? Most commercial products are full of chemicals, however I use all natural and organic ingredients in the products I create. Knowing that goat milk is an excellent ingredient for nourish- ing and moisturizing the skin, I experimented and developed skin- nourishing soap recipes with mild lather and amazing scents that make you breathe in and say ahhhhh! The difference in how my skin looks and feels is amazing! I will never buy store-bought soap again.
After seeing the documentary, Before the Flood, with Leonardo DiCaprio, I knew I was never going to use palm oil in my products. The recent press surrounding the devastation to wildlife habitats, especially orangutans, that is caused by the destruction of rain forests in order to have palm plantations was very disturbing to me. I want to make a positive impact on my environment and I want to be environmentally responsible, so no palm oil is my motto.
With the introduction of my homemade goat-milk soap, I
launched my “Skinfully Pure” line of healthy, sustainable body-care products. I created Skinfully Pure for those of you who are environ- mentally conscious and who appreciate the difference and quality of all natural handmade products. I started with goat milk soap and have expanded to lotions, body butters, foot balms, lip balms, bath bombs and shower fizzies. An eye balm and facial mask will be added in the near future.

I handcraft each item in small batches, using only pure, natural ingredients, and organic when possible. I use high-quality essential oils known for their therapeutic properties, never synthetic fragrance oils, and pure colorants, never synthetic dyes. My packaging is recy- clable, biodegradable, and whenever possible it also comes from a sustainable source, reducing our environmental impact. My prod- ucts are never tested on animals…only on myself, my hubby and my wonderful and willing family and friends.
