The Crown Chakra

By Heather Nichols T

here are seven chakras in our bodies and they are the cen- ters in which energy flows through. Blocked energy in our chakras can often lead to illness, so it's important to under-

stand what each chakra represents and what we can do to keep this energy flowing freely.

The Crown Chakra is divine tingly energy, connecting us with

divine light and guidance from the sky; it reminds us of how big we are, and that we have a team of guidance ready to invest in our earthly matters. A healthy crown is connected to the higher self, allowing us to live the life we dream of, and create it as we go. Bringing awareness of the soul, the body, and the mind, while allowing us to separate from it and connect with it. It brings us awareness, spirituality, meaning, and transformation.

The color is violet; the developmental stage early adult until the great escape; the location is the cerebral cortex. You can guide light in through the crown to bathe and cleanse all of your chakras. Remembering we are always connected to the deep of the Earth through our 1st chakra, our roots; growing individuality from the 2nd; bringing desires of life through the 3rd; living, loving and trusting with our hearts in the 4th; speaking our truth through the 5th; creating our visions in the 6th; and allowing guidance to enter our 7th chakra, the crown, to connect us consciously to our higher guidance --the best version of ourselves.

An over active crown chakra tends to put too much energy

in the spirit world, neglecting their place and responsibilities on earth, making one feel constantly overwhelmed, light headed, and confused. These people may lie to themselves and others. They have a tendency to create their own reality, and react by affecting the relationships around them.

Stones to use for an overactive Crown:

Orthoceras: (this is technically a fossil) This 365 million years old fossil reminds us that consciousness is wise and basic. It is hollow inside and lived in the water, constantly reminding us to pull in water and sun into our system, it then evolved to the Earth, reminding us to stay grounded and connected. It is black and white, grey on the inside. Basic and divine!

Gold: Pulls in and maintains the flow of the crown, bathes all

the chakras in a golden light, allowing them to ground and con- nect with each other. A good way to do this is holding it in your hand, with hands on top of each other, palms up at your Solar Plexus. (If purchasing gold is not in your budget, then using Pyrite is a good substitution)

Signs of an underactive Crown Chakra: extreme cynical at- titude, little to no spiritual beliefs, limiting themselves to listening to others, limiting their possibilities of what they will try, difficulty learning, constantly getting in their own way, having difficulty socializing, low acceptance level, greed and materialism. When the Crown is underactive, lower chakras get stuck and blocked easier, allowing tensions to build up and become volatile, releas- ing through the Crown.

Stones to use for an underactive Crown: Apophyllite: Opens Crown, lets light in, cleanses all the

chakras, brings in the energy of the light spectrum to help balance and cleanse the chakra system, helps one to connect spiritually.

Iolite: Gently activates the Third Eye and Crown, bringing in

soft and divine healing, awakens the mind, enhances spiritual de- velopment, clears the soul of past trauma, and helps one let go of suffering. Iolite is not a grounding stone, but will bring awareness to the patterns that hold us back, allows us to work at clearing our consciousness without judgement.

Quartz: A great crystal to connect the science and the spiritu-

al as it awakens our bodies, amplifies energy to a level that makes us want to listen, sends, receives, and removes energy. Quartz is a wonderful all-purpose crystal that benefits the whole body and its healing process. If you need help letting your guidance in and understanding, lay down with a large quartz point directed at the Crown.

Using stones to help bring a chakra back into balance is as easy as placing a stone directly on the chakra. There are many stones you can use to help restore balance and health to your chakras. First, you have to be open to the concept of using stones and then learn how to properly use them. I encourage you to make this a part of your journey for whole health.
