November is non-fi ction month. Why not come in to borrow books to plan your next holiday, learn how to cook new dishes, or start making gifts for Christmas!
Do you belong to a local organisation/charity that would like to put a display in our entrance hall cabinet? All non-commercial displays are free of charge – we also accept commercial displays at a small weekly charge, please ask for details.
Do you know someone who struggles to get to the library due to ill health or disability? Or you can’t easily visit the library because you care for someone else? The library service can come out to you, delivering books and spoken word books free of charge every three weeks. Please ring the library and speak to Lisa.
Struggling with your PC or tablet? Come along and speak to our Digital Champion to get practical help tailored to your needs. Our FREE Digital Champion sessions are on the fi rst Wednesday of the month, in the morning. Places must be booked in advance.
Need to de-stress and unwind? Our adult colouring sessions take place the fi rst Monday of the month 2-3.30pm. All materials are provided free of charge and refreshments are available.
We are pleased to announce that Santa’s post-box will be out in the library from Monday 27th November. This will give you plenty of time to write to Santa – and more importantly, time for him to write back. Every letter will receive a reply.
A fabulous festive crafts session for adults and teenagers will take place in the library on Saturday 2nd December from 2-5pm. Make a festive button art picture, try some book folding and make tree decorations. Suggested donation £5. All materials and refreshments will be provided. Booking essential!

Partners And Communities Together (PACT)
While this is not a high crime area, crime and anti-social behaviour fi gure very strongly in surveys about issues concerning local residents.
PACT gives Upton and Lytchett Minster residents the chance to tell the police and town councillors about the safety/crime issues causing concern within the community. This helps determine priorities for action for the police and council.
Meetings are held every two months between the PACT panel and neighbourhood police and members of the public are welcome to attend and participate in these meetings.
People can report concerns direct to the police and/or to PACT Chairman, Stephen Link (stephen.
link99@hotmail.co.uk).
Problems reported recently include: • excessive speeds on local roads • inconsiderate parking • doorstep/telephone/online scams • break-ins/theft from vehicles/sheds/garages • vandalism/anti-social behaviour in public spaces.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, 15th November, 7pm at the Church Lounge of Upton Community Centre on Poole Road.
