County Councillor Update Dear Residents,

The No 3 bus is continuing with the timetable for the moment, which is excellent news, thanks to the MoreBus company. Vikki Slade and I have had several positive meetings with them. However they do emphasise that it is running at a slight loss, which they are not allowed to sustain. So it is imperative that passenger numbers increase before Easter, so they can write the 2018 timetable in the same way. Please use the bus! Use it or lose it. We need each passenger to take an extra trip and to persuade a friend to use the bus more. Don’t pay excessive car park charges in town, don’t pollute the atmosphere, leave the car at home, take the bus! We all know someone who is dependent on the bus and housebound without it, go and visit them, ON THE BUS!

The Community Youth Club had a successful summer, there were six day trips to varied lively places and all the young people loved it and came home buzzing (and tired). All the Duke of Edinburgh expeditions went off well and we have a total of 45 Young People doing the three stages of Bronze, Silver and Gold. Activities centred on the Youth Centre fi nished at the end of July in order for building work to commence to divide the building. We had had a minimum of 50 young people every evening throughout the summer term. We hope to be able to reopen around the October half-term.

Do you have a Co-op Card? Please nominate the Community Youth Club as your charity of choice and then the Co-op will donate 1% of your shopping bill to them until the end of November, when the nominated Charities will change again.

Speedwatch patrols continue. Corfe Mullen is the most active and successful team in Dorset, the Chief Constable describes us as the exemplar! We are noticing a signifi cant reduction in speeding. They always need more volunteers, so if you are interested please contact me, our PCSO Neal Rooke, or the Parish Offi ce.

Sport on the Rec has had a good summer too, lots of matches played and lots of people, especially juniors, taking part in everything.

With very best wishes,

Susan Jefferies County Councillor for Corfe Mullen jefferies.susan@gmail.com 01202 699647
