With nine categories, there is plenty of choice for businesses and organisations to compete for a top prize in the region’s leading awards campaign.
New awards this year include a Community Legacy Award, sponsored by Peter Brett Associates, that recognises organisations that ‘give back’ to their community.
The award will be presented to a company or organisation that, through its culture, activities and engagement with the local community, creates a long-term, sustainable legacy. Judges will be looking for projects, campaigns and initiatives that not only provide a valuable resource for the community but also engage the business’ workforce.
Peter Brett Associates is itself a company that has corporate social responsibility in its DNA. As sponsor of this award, PBA wishes to recognise and reward businesses that adopt a similar approach – that, engagement with the local community shows an awareness of the organisation’s contribution to the region’s economy, society and/or environment.

It’s now time to enter the 2017 Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards – and celebrate the success of your company in the past year
from property to professional services, and from SMEs to large corporates. Campaigns that result in a physical legacy – such as a community building – are eligible, of course, as are non-physical initiatives, such as ongoing collaborations with charities and social groups.
Also new this year is a Workplace Mental Health Award. In what is believed to be a first for business awards, TVBMA will recognise companies and organisations that understand that good mental health matters in the workplace.
Sponsored by the Cardinal Clinic, the private mental health clinic in Windsor, and the Institute of Directors, and the award is supported by Brighter Berkshire, an initiative which helps to reduce stigma about mental health and improve local opportunities, and is endorsed by Berkshire MPs such as Richard Benyon and Alok Sharma.
Now in its 23rd year, TVBMA is the longest- running multi-category awards scheme in the region. The event will be held at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Madejski Stadium, Reading, on Thursday, November 16.
Our special guest on the night is Jon Culshaw, the renowned impressionist with a catalogue of over 350 voices and impersonations. Culshaw first made international headlines in 1998 by calling the switchboard at Number 10 Downing Street and fooling the operators with his impression of William Hague. He has worked on Dead Ringers, Spitting Image, The Royal Variety Performance and numerous other TV and radio shows.
Our presenter for the evening is Louise Hulland, award-winning journalist who has worked for BBC and ITN and produced two highly-acclaimed documentaries on the death of Amy Winehouse.
