Berkshire-based Oil Plus has boosted its senior management team as the company looks to strengthen and grow its position in the Middle East and globally. Peter Sanders and Clarke Shepherd have taken on the respective roles of technical manager and global business development director at the firm that advises on global oilfield water management, production chemistry, microbiology, reservoir souring and process engineering. Sanders, an oil and gas science veteran with over 30 years’ experience, and Shepherd, an experienced project controls and business development manager, will support Oil Plus in providing clients with advice on the design of efficient production facilities and cost-effective operations.


Grant Thornton has announced two new hires as a result of the continued growth of its Thames Valley and south corporate finance team. Angela Haygarth has been appointed as associate director. With more than 19 years of experience in the industry, Haygarth has previously worked with BDO and Nortons Group, before joining the team at Grant Thornton. In addition, Gemma Legg joins the team as corporate finance manager in the Thames Valley, having recently been named South East Business Insider’s Young Dealmaker of the Year, Legg has been appointed to further enhance Grant Thornton’s corporate finance offering. Both Haygarth and Legg will work across the firm’s offices in Oxford, Reading and Southampton.


National law firm, Gateley plc, has announced the promotion of a Corporate lawyer in its Reading office. Sarah Souter (corporate) (pictured) has been made associate and 30 promotions have been made nationally, spanning Gateley Plc’s corporate, construction, employment, pensions, regulatory, real estate and commercial dispute resolution teams. Gateley plc’s London office also saw three promotions. James Jaffa and Joanne Welch (commerce technology and media) made associate and Nadine Herman (restructuring) made senior associate.


EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, has appointed Martin Strutt as its new director for membership engagement across the South East region. Strutt has been with EEF for the past 16 months as consultancy director, responsible for developing growth strategy. In his new role, he will focus on membership development and engagement and will be responsible for growing EEF’s business across the South East, as well as supporting member companies with first-class business services.


Carter Jonas, the national property consultancy, has appointed Johanna Hooley as new homes sales manager, bolstering its southern region new homes team, who are based in Oxford. Hooley joins Carter Jonas with over 30 years’ experience in residential and new homes sales, having previously worked for leading developers, including Berkeley Homes as a sales development director in London, and for City and Country.


Oxfordshire legal firm Hedges Law has announced two key appointments as it boosts its team. Prisca Bradley joins Hedges Law as head of employment and Mike Cooper joins the firm’s commercial property department. Experienced employment lawyer Bradley joins as a director and head of the firm’s growing employment team. She has a particular interest in discrimination and whistle-blowing matters and safeguarding advice for education clients. Bradley is a skilled negotiator and litigator and provides consistent and pragmatic support for her employer clients. She is a regular speaker on BBC radio and her articles have been published in national journals.
