Ancient Egyptian Day Chiddingstone Castle Edenbridge Spend the day learning more about the mysteries of ancient Egypt. You will be able to handle objects which are 3,000 years old, listen to a professor of Egyptology and meet Irethoreru, the 2,600-year-old mummy. Make a clay mummy and hear


a talk about a day in the life of an ancient Egyptian. Finally, visit “The Fields of


Eternity” — the castle's unique, award-winning ancient Egyptian-themed conceptual grass maze and enjoy all the castle’s regular features.

August 12 & 13 Summer Jousting Tornaments Hever Castle & Gardens, Edenbridge One of several weekends when the Knights of Royal England return to battle it out in the Hever Castle Jousting Tournament. Spectators will be treated to a thrilling show as the brave knights compete for points to find this season’s champion. Each tournament begins with a procession from the castle forecourt, when Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn lead visitors across the grounds to the arena. Bring a blanket or watch the joust in style from the medieval spectator stands, available for a small cost on a first-come first-served basis.
