At Margaret Green Animal Rescue we care for over 1,300 animals a year at our rescue and rehoming centres in Dorset and Devon.
Our pet of the month is Pinkie, a rescue cat, and she’d like to share her story…

“Hello there, my name is Pinkie and I am the supreme ruler of the cat garden! I am seven years old and in need of a new home due to my previous owners being unable to handle my spikey and at times unpredictable behaviour. I do like fuss, I promise, but it quickly overstimulates me, which can lead to me biting and scratching. I don’t want to put you off taking me home, but I will only consider homes that love me for the diva I am… at my age I’m not really ready to change.
I have a favourite staff member here, so will defi nitely consider you being my favourite human, but I also like to have minions that I like to terrorise, as I can smell their fear (I’m not really mean I just like to keep myself entertained and everyone else one their toes!). I like to be able to sit outside and watch the world go by and if there is anything happening I love to be involved - I just might have to have a chew on your ankles at the end of it!
My staff have been clicker training me and I‘ve picked it up really quickly. I am more than happy with the commands ‘sit’ and ‘off’ (as I sometime like to get a bit close to people’s faces) and I’m willing to learn more, as I do adore my food and will do anything to get it! I would need to be in an adult only home with no other pets as I can be a bit much for them.
