Lockyer's Middle School
It has certainly been a busy year at Lockyer’s Middle School, not least with Mrs Alison Shivas winning Dorset Middle School Teacher of the Year – hosted by the Daily Echo.
On Wednesday 24th May, we spent the day off timetable to support UNICEF’s
annual ‘Day for Change’ and to raise money for our current Rights Respecting project: Toilet Twinning. The day was split into two sections, with classroom-based work around the issue of malnutrition (UNICEF’s focus for this year) during the morning, followed by an afternoon of fundraising for the Toilet Twinning project.

KS2 pupils had the opportunity to enjoy the glorious sunshine, whilst participating in a Water Fair – containing water themed games such as Splat the Teacher and Tin Can Alley, whilst KS3
teams to cover a distance of 6km carrying water, to appreciate just how far young people have to walk with heavy water on a daily basis.
Our Alice in Wonderland performance is in the fi rst week of July and a group of pupils be will sharing their work at Corfe Hills School fashion show later in the month.
