FIRST ROYAL CHESHIRE MILITIA OFFICER’S 1873 PATTERN SHAKO, the green cloth body complete with all silver plated fittings and silver lace trim, the frontal plate of crowned laurel pattern with central circle ‘First Royal Cheshire Militia’, in the centre on a domed ground a silver strung bugle horn, the plate is original to the shako, buff leather sweatband and crimson silk lining, the round ball plume of dark green wool with plated plume holder this a mixture of 1855 and 1861 patterns, the correct pattern chin chain is lacking one third of its length, together with its metal carrying tin, very good condition

THE CAMERONIANS (SCOTTISH RIFLES) OFFICER’S SHAKO C. 1891-1901, the dark green cloth body of regimental pattern complete with black thistle pattern lace, green cord boss with black and silver mullet over a similar strung bugle horn, sewn in festoons, feather plume with black metal holder, buff leather sweatband with white silk lining, the inside of the crown named to ‘J.C.McLean’, the sweatband part detached, part of the leather trim missing to the reverse area otherwise very good overall condition
