THE CHEEKY Pirates are heading your way! Bromsgrove Operatic Society has pro- duced an irreverent, cheeky concert per- formance based on Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. Not only does it retain the wonderful songs and offbeat comedy of the dynamic duo, but it also wrings out the hidden agenda within their humour and teasingly adds its own. WORCESTERSHIRE JAZZ Orchestra holds its next concert on Fri July 14 at Lickey End Social Club, 17 Alcester Road, B60 1JT, featuring American vocalist Lynn Dawes as the special guest. Lynn will also appear with the band at Kidderminster station on the Severn Valley Railway’s “1940s Day” on July 1, recreating the music from the great swing bands of the time. TARDEBIGGE CHURCH choir is seeking new recruits! ALVECHURCH COMMUNITY Choir meets at 7.30pm on Mondays, usually in Alvechurch Village Hall though on the 2nd Monday each month they move to a different venue, usually Alvechurch Social Club. They break for a summer holiday on July 24. The choir is an open access sing- ing group; new members of all abilities are welcome.
