News Dentists leave after 23 years
A HUSBAND and wife dental team are to leave their Bearsted practice after nearly 23 years. Alastair and Pari Wrigley have
run their Cavendish Way surgery since October 1994. Now they are selling the business and hope to re- store homes, work in the Third World – and do blacksmith work. Mr and Mrs Wrigley met at Sheffield University, where they were both studying dentistry, and took over a small going concern to create the Wrigley Dental Practice. Now they have 2,500 customers –
all of whom have been informed of their decision by letter. Part-time receptionists Laura
Payne, Helen Robinson, JuliaVidgen and Julie Safavi will all continue with thenewownerswhenthey take over in July. Iranian-born Mrs Wrigley (50) will
stay on until the end of the year to ensure a smooth handover. “We’ve had a wonderful time here
but we wanted a complete career change,” said Mr Wrigley (53). “We don’t want to be like Prince
Philip and be doddering along, we want to quit whilewe are ahead and pass it over to a younger version of ourselves. “We cannot afford to retire so I’d
like to restore old houses and we’d both like to take our skills and help people in the Third World, maybe in Africa or Asia. “I’d also like to be a blacksmith, so
